Find the connection that's running hot before it fails. Non-invasive thermal inspection of domestic and commercial boards across Perth, with a written report.
Electrical connections don't usually fail suddenly. They loosen, corrode, or work slightly free over years of thermal cycling. Resistance creeps up, and resistance under load makes heat. By the time there's a smell, discoloured plastic or a nuisance trip, the damage has already been happening for a long time.
A thermal camera makes that visible while it's still just heat. We scan the board live, under its normal load, and compare components against each other and against ambient. A connection running significantly hotter than its neighbours is telling you something, and it's telling you early enough to do something about it cheaply.
No outage required. The board has to be live and loaded for the scan to mean anything, so there's no shutdown, no disruption, and no need to close a site or empty a building.
Multi-tenancy meter boards and common area boards, where a failure affects every lot and the repair bill lands on the whole scheme.
Shops, offices and workshops where an unplanned outage means lost trading, spoiled stock or idle staff.
Boards that have been added to over the years, where connections have been disturbed repeatedly and loads have grown.
After a fit-out, new equipment, air conditioning or an EV charger. Anywhere demand has gone up since the board was built.
Annual scans as part of a planned maintenance schedule, giving you a record over time rather than a single snapshot.
Homes with recurring nuisance tripping, a board that's warm to the touch, or an owner who simply wants it checked properly.
A loose termination found on a scan is usually a short job to fix. The same connection left alone can take out a breaker, damage the cable and the busbar, and in a multi-tenancy board bring down more than one supply. The difference between the two outcomes is often just knowing about it early.

Want a board scanned before it becomes a problem?
Heat where there shouldn't be any. A loose or corroded connection has higher resistance, and resistance under load makes heat. That shows up on a thermal camera long before there's any smell, discolouration or tripping. It also picks up overloaded circuits, failing breakers, and unbalanced loads across phases.
No, the opposite. The board needs to be live and carrying its normal load, because a board that's switched off has nothing to heat up. That's part of what makes it useful: we can check the board while the site keeps running, with no outage and no disruption.
A safety inspection checks that the installation is compliant and that protective devices work. Thermal imaging looks for parts that are compliant but wearing out, like a connection that's still doing its job today but running hot and heading for failure. They answer different questions, and they work well together.
Anywhere a board failure would be expensive or disruptive. Strata common property boards, commercial premises, multi-tenancy meter boards, workshops, and any site with equipment that can't afford unplanned downtime. It's also worth doing on older boards, or after a period of added load.
Annually suits most commercial and strata sites, which lines up with other routine maintenance. Somewhere with heavy or variable load, or a board with a known history, may warrant more often. If a site has never had it done, the first scan is usually the one that finds the most.
Yes. You get the thermal images alongside normal photos, the temperatures recorded, which component was running hot, and a plain-English explanation of what it means and what we recommend. Written to be read by a strata committee or a building manager, not just an electrician.
We'll tell you how serious it is and how quickly it needs attention. Not everything warm is an emergency. A connection running a little warm might be worth tightening at the next visit; something much hotter than the ones around it gets dealt with straight away. Then we quote the repair.
Yes. We're a licensed electrical contractor, so if the scan turns up a problem we can rectify it rather than handing you a report and leaving you to find someone else. Work is completed to AS/NZS 3000 with a certificate issued.
